It was 24 years ago next month that Star Trek hit the big screen for the first time to a box office bonanza and three Academy Award nominations. But it was just two years ago that "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" was actually considered to be finished. Robert Wise's "Director's Edition" of "ST:TMP" premiered on DVD in November 2001. The original film came out on December 7, 1979. So to celebrate this dual anniversary, we have gathered a variety of materials — including never-before-seen photos and videos — to provide a look at the making of both incarnations of the film, and will present them to you over the next few weeks.
The following is a list of our current offerings plus some pre-existing features and news stories about "Motion Picture" which you may not have seen yet. This page will be updated as new materials are posted. Brand new items are indicated in bold.
